Natural Resources Natural Resources and Environment - Certificate

This certificate provides students with the knowledge and ability to determine the appropriate methods for managing a variety of natural resources. This certificate is recommended for those currently employed or seeking employment in the natural-resources industry or public agencies in the area of forestry, wildlife, outdoor recreation, or conservation. 

Credit Requirements: 17 semester credit hours

Career Outlook

A natural-resource aide (forest aide, forest laborer, natural resources or biological aide, forest-fire equipment operator, etc.) has the technical knowledge and ability to assist a forest- or natural-resource technician, forester, or wildlife biologist with data collection, heavy equipment operation, and various manual field tasks. Graduates of the Natural Resources and Environment certificate program are qualified for entry-level positions with a variety of state and federal natural-resource agencies, consulting firms, and other large land-holding organizations.
