WildlifeForestry Management Technology, Wildlife Management Emphasis - Associate in Applied Science

If you enjoy being outdoors and working with animals, you should consider HGTC's Forestry Management Technology program, with an emphasis in Wildlife Management. The only accredited associate degree program of its kind in South Carolina, the HGTC Forestry Wildlife Management program provides students with the knowledge and ability to work in natural-resource technician positions, alongside a graduate forester, wildlife biologist, or other land-management professional.

Career Outlook

A wildlife or natural resource technician has the technical knowledge and ability to work directly with wildlife and to manipulate their habitat or environmental conditions to enhance populations. Graduates of the Wildlife Management program are qualified for entry-level positions with state and federal land-management agencies, natural-resource consulting firms, and others involved in on-the-ground stewardship where skills of forest and wildlife management are needed.

Students have the opportunity to become certified in the following areas: South Carolina Commercial Pesticide License, South Carolina Prescribed Burning Certification, and American Red Cross First Aid and CPR.
